bath (Gosol)
The
permanent committee of Decree was asked the
following question:
What a woman should do if she sees, in
dream (nightly) that she was alone with a man and
consequently she released, while sleeping, semen.
Answer:
If
a man dreams that he is practicing sexual
intercourse with a woman or if a woman dreams that
she is being sexually consumed by a man and
sleeping then it is not sin. Because it is a matter of just a dream while sleeping and
because it is out of their will.
Allah does not entrust a person with some
thing that he cannot perform.
The prophet (PBUH) said, “Pen which
records human sins and good deeds is hold-up from
the mad till he becomes normal, and from the
infant till he reaches the age of puberty”
[Refer to Ahmed, Abu Daud, El-Nisaee and El-
Hakim. If
a person, man or woman, finds the semen came out
while he/she was sleeping as a result of the above
dreams they he/she must perform purifying bath.
The
permanent committee of Decree was asked the
following question:
A woman always at night suspects that
she is Junub (impure) (sexually consumed by her
husband) even if her husband had not touched her. Even sometimes she thinks to be Junub while she is awake,
therefore, she is perplexed?
Answer:
A woman who
just suspect that she is impure (Junub) in the
sense that she is sexually consumed.
She must perform (gosol) (taking purifying
bath) be cause she suspected to be Junub and the
base in such this situation is purity due to the
existence of doubt and what will be required such
situation is acceptance from the necessity of
gosol.
Shaikh
Abdel Aziz Bin Baz was asked the following
question:
What about a woman who rubs-up on her scarf
when she performs Gusul?
Answer:
To rub-on a scarf or a turban is not
permitted in case of Gusul El-Janaba, it is
permitted only in the case of performing ablution.
Safwan Bin Assal said that the prophet
(PBUH) ordered them that if they were travelling
they may not “take-off the cover which is on
them for three night except in the case of
Janaba” But
some situations which make it necessary on man to
remove it such as bone break, injuries then it is
permitted to rub-up on it while the prophet of
major and minor purification because the prophet
(PBUH) permitted to “tie up the injury and to
rub-up on it while performing Gosol and then to
wash the rest of the body.
Shaikh
Abdel Aziz Bin Baz was asked the following
question:
Is it permitted to delay Gosol El-Janaba,
gosol of menstruation, or gosol of being confined
in childbed till the time of dawn?
Answer:
If a woman
wants to delay gosol from the above types
of gosol till the dawn then it is not
prohibited but she should not delay it to the time
of sun rising.
She should perform gosol and pray before
sun rising. A
man also should perform gosol and pray with Jamaa
in the mosque.
The
permanent committee of Decree was asked the
following question:
Does the use of henna during menstruation
period affects the correctness of gosol?
Answer:
The use of
henna does not affect gosol nor ablution because
its color traces on the skin is neither thick nor
dense, and therefore, it does not profits its
water from reaching to the skin.
But the material of henna should be removed
from the skin to allow water to reach the skin.
The
permanent committee of Decree was asked the
following question:
How to perform Gosol El-Janaba and what is
the difference between Gosol El-Janaba and Gosol
of Menstruation?
Answer:
There is
no difference between man and woman on how to
perform Gosol El-Janaba.
They pour water thrice on the head so that
water can reach in between the hair and then to
over whelm all the body with water.
Um salama said to the prophet Mohammed
(PBUH), “I am a woman and I am stretching the
hair braid so that water can reach various places,
so should I unbraid the hair for the purpose of
Gosol El-Janaba?”
the prophet (PBUH) said, “No, no need, it
suffice to pour water on your head thrice and then
flood yourself with water so that to be pure”
[Refer to Muslim]. If there was something on the head of the of the man or a
woman which hinders the reaching of water to the
skin such as henna etc… then it must be removed.
As far as the performance of gosol of
menstruation scholars disagreed regarding
unbraiding the hair or leave it as it is but the
pre-pondering is to unbraid the hair for the
purpose of menstruation gosol.
Shaikh
Mohammed Bin Salih El-Otheimeen was asked the
following question:
If the woman was Junub (sexually consumed
by her husband) and she wants to perform Gosol
El-Janaba (purification gosol) should she wash her
hair till the water reaches the skin?
Answer:
Janaba (In purity resulting from sexual
intercourse) necessities gosol El-Janaba which
requires that water must reach the roots of the
hair whether of a man or a woman.
Allah says, “If you were Junub then
purify yourselves”.
It is not permitted to wash the surface of
the hair or only the apparent side of the hair,
but water should reach the origin of the hair and
also the skin of the head.
If her hair was in the form of braid she
must unbraid it so that to allow water to reach to
all hairs or she can put the braid under a pouring
water and allow it to saturate by water and then
press it so that each hair will be washed
properly.
The
permanent committee of decree was asked the
following question:
A husband practiced Jimaa (sexual
intercourse) with his wife and then disposed stool
(the material which come out from the anal) then
which way of purification must be before the
other?
Answer:
It
is sufficient for him to perform one salvaging
(wash of location) from stoking and Jimaa and then
perform gosol of Janaba to purity himself from
Janaba.
Shaikh
Mohammed Bin Salih El-Otheimeen was asked the
following question:
Does women experience nightfall? And if
they experience nightfall what must she do?
And what about who got nightfall but did
not perform Gosol? And what must she do?
Answer:
Women are like
men in this regard, they may experience nightfall.
If a man or a woman experience nightfall
and if he/she wakes up but does not find any trace
of water (semen) then he is not required to
perform purifying gosol of Janaba.
But if she/he finds the traces of semen
then gosol El-Janaba is necessary.
Um-Salama said, “O the prophet of Allah,
should a woman perform gosol El-Janaba if she
experiences nightfall?”
the messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Yes,
if she saw water (semen).
If she sees water (semen of woman) it is
obligatory to perform gosol El-Janaba and
compensate the abandoned prayers”,
The
permanent committee of Decree was asked the
following question:
Should a woman perform gosol if she
ejaculated without sexual intercourse?
Answer:
If the semen
of the woman comes out accompanied by the peak of
ejaculation she should perform gosol even if that
ejaculation was a real sexual intercourse.
The
permanent committee of Decree was asked the
following question:
Is it permitted for a Junub (not pure due
to sexual intercourse) whether a man or a woman to
sleep without performing ablution?
Answer:
It is not a
sin for a Junub to sleep without ablution but it
would be better to perform ablution before
sleeping because the prophet Mohammed (PBUH) used
to perform ablution before sleeping.
The
permanent committee of Decree was asked the
following question:
If the husband and wife perform sexual
intercourse, can they touch things around them
before performing gosol or what they have touched
would be considered as impure (Najis)
Answer:
This can
touch things such as clothes resells … etc and
what they touch is not considered as impure.
This is the case also with the childbed
woman (who has just come out of begetting) and
also the menstruating woman.
They can touch everything and what they
touch will not be impure, because only the blood
which comes out from them is impure and not their
hands or even their sweat.
